forageSF

Mission

Make wild food feel local, guided, and possible.

Our job is to connect people to the edible landscape around them without pretending a website can replace field experience, safety, seasonality, or local knowledge.

Guided first

We teach in the field with context: what is edible, what is not, what is legal, what is seasonal, and what should be left alone.

Bay Area specific

forageSF is built around the coast, forests, parks, tides, and city edges around San Francisco and Northern California.

Food as memory

The best events end with a story people keep telling: what they found, what they tasted, and what they noticed outside.

Fast facts

A few useful things before we plan the day.

What it isGuided Bay Area wild food walks and private events built around edible plants, seaweed, shellfish, mushrooms, and the season.
How it feelsOutside, hands-on, hosted, and a little strange in the best way. Guests do not need any foraging experience before they come.
What shapes the dayDate, tides, terrain, group size, comfort level, and guide availability decide the route and format.

Looking for a group event?

Wild plant walks are usually the easiest private format to plan. Coast, shellfish, seaweed, mushrooms, and cooking options depend on tide, timing, group size, and guide availability.
